“By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.”
Hebrews 11:23 KJV
“And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi. And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.” – Exodus 2:1-2 KJV
While the baby sons of other family members, friends, and all those around them were being brutally murdered by drowning at the order of Pharoah, Moses’ mother said in her heart, my son will live and not die!
In an environment where the newborn sons of family & friends were being killed and the resulting sorrow, weeping, and despair – Moses’ mother had the audacity to believe that some way, some how God would cause her son to live. She believed God for a different outcome. And that’s exactly what happened.
“And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows……..Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.”
Exodus 3:7, 10 KJV
What do I do “by faith”? What evidence is there in my life that I am living by faith in God?
Trust God for the change you want to see in your life
“So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?” – Galatians 3:5 NIV
“For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.” – Galatians 3:10-11 NIV
