ABOUT THE DESIGN
Inspired by Isaiah 9:6, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
These terms are traditionally understood as descriptions of the Messiah's character and role. While these are not literal names in the sense we think of today, they describe the nature and attributes of the Messiah who is Jesus. Each title emphasizes a different aspect of His divine authority, wisdom, strength, and the peace He would bring.
I created this design to remind us that we have access to all of who Jesus is, to help us as we journey through life.

THE BACK STORY
The Prophet Isaiah likely wrote his prophecies while living in Jerusalem, during the reign of several Judean kings, including Ahaz and Hezekiah. At the time, the Kingdom of Judah was under significant political and military pressure. The Assyrian Empire was expanding, threatening the region, and Judah faced internal turmoil and external threats from neighboring nations like Israel (the Northern Kingdom) and Syria. Isaiah's prophecies, including Isaiah 9:6, were meant to offer hope and reassurance of God's plan, despite the impending challenges and judgment facing Judah. Scholars estimate that this was written around 700 years before Jesus was born.
